Disconnect from PayPal
We require a disconnect from PayPal button to be within your admin panel on your
marketplace. This button would need to be created by you, as there is no endpoint or API call
you can make to remove a merchant from your platform. You would need to remove their
Merchant ID from your database manually, and the merchant would need to revoke permissions
to you directly within their PayPal account. If a merchant does decide to disconnect from the
platform, you’ll need to present the following disclaimer when they initiate the flow.
Directions for disconnecting a PayPal account
Login to your PayPal account and click on your icon in the top-right corner
Under “Account Settings” select “API Access”
Under REST API Integration, select “Manage REST API apps and credentials”
Select the app you would like to revoke and remove permissions from the platform
Disclaimer
“Disconnecting your PayPal account will prevent you from offering PayPal services and products on
your website. Do you wish to continue?”
Payments Receivable False
When a merchant onboards using the Partner Referrals API call, you would receive in your GET response
if the “PAYMENTS_RECEIVABLE” is false – this means the merchant’s account is limited, which can
happen from time-to-time. If this value comes back as false, you’ll need to present the following error
message to your sellers so they can resolve the limitation within their PayPal account. This will need to
be displayed after they complete their onboarding
“Attention: You currently cannot receive payments due to restriction on your PayPal account. Please
reach out to PayPal Customer Support or connect to https://www.paypal.com for more information.”
Primary Email Confirmed is False
When a merchant onboards using the Partner Referrals API call, you would receive in your GET response
if the “PRIMARY_EMAIL_CONFIRMED” is either false or true. If this value is returned as false, the
merchant would need to confirm their email address within their PayPal account. You would need to
present the following error message within your admin panel so the merchant is aware they need to
confirm their email address
“Attention: Please confirm your email address on https://www.paypal.com/businessprofile/settings
in order to receive payments! You currently cannot receive payments.”
